If you've wandered through our little corner of the realm looking for new blog posts, you may have noticed something strange...
The tavern hearth has been warm, the dice have been rolling, and the adventurers have been gathering—but our poor blog has been gathering dust for nearly six months.
For that, we owe you an apology.
The truth is, we've been busy doing what we love most: building community, running games, teaching new players, hosting tournaments, and filling the shop with laughter, stories, and just a little bit of chaos. Between youth programs, trading card games, book clubs, roleplaying adventures, and community events, the months have flown by faster than a wizard casting Haste.
But we're back at the writing desk, quill in hand, and June is shaping up to be one of our most exciting months yet.
First up, on June 6, we're making store history with our very first Magic: The Gathering Regional Championship Qualifier (RCQ). This special Sealed event gives local players a chance to compete for a coveted invitation to higher-level organized play. Whether you're a seasoned planeswalker or simply excited to witness a milestone for our community, we're thrilled to finally bring an RCQ to Southern Maryland. We also have the Marvel Prerelease the weekend of the 19th-20th.
On June 13, the tavern transforms into a bustling marketplace for our Fantasy Craft Show. Expect handmade treasures, fantasy-inspired art, crochet creations, ceramics, books, stickers, accessories, and countless other unique finds from talented local creators. It's one of our favorite ways to celebrate the creativity that exists beyond the gaming table.
Then, on June 19, our first D&D Day Camp for the summer. Young adventurers will spend the day learning the basics of roleplaying, exploring fantastical worlds, solving puzzles, battling monsters, and making new friends. Throughout the month we'll also be running several one-shot adventures, perfect for players looking to experience a complete story in a single session.
Finally, on June 27, we celebrate one of the best days of the year: Free RPG Day. We'll be giving away free roleplaying game materials while hosting paid games throughout the day. Whether you're a longtime Game Master, a curious newcomer, or someone who has always wanted to try tabletop roleplaying games, this is the perfect opportunity to pull up a chair and join an adventure.
As always, our goal remains the same: to create a welcoming place where everyone can gather, tell stories, make friends, and share the hobbies they love.
Thank you for supporting our little fantasy tavern. Thank you for filling our tables, teaching new players, cheering each other on, and helping us build something special here in Southern Maryland.
We'll do our best not to leave the blog gathering dust for another six months.
Until next time, may your dice roll true and your adventures be memorable.
